Issues

I believe in the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms. I also believe in commonsense gun violence prevention measures. I do not believe private citizens should have access to weapons of war. I am for banning the purchase of military style firearms, as guns made for war should be left on the battlefield. Recently, we have seen a rise in school shutdowns due to anonymous threats of violence. As such, I support legislation that will reduce these threats. I also support Red Flag laws which help prevent gun tragedies by providing a process that law enforcement and family members can use to petition a court to temporarily remove firearms from people who are at an elevated risk of harm to themselves or others.
