Common Sense, Family-Centered Solutions
Chris is running for House District 38 to bring a common sense approach to the solutions needed for Colorado families. He is tired of the Republican incumbent, Susan Beckman, voting against the interests of the residents of HD38. We need to focus on ideas that bring people together and don't deepen partisan divisions that are tearing our country apart.
He is the grandson of a dairy farmer. He is the son of a UAW worker who worked over thirty years on the assembly line for John Deere building backhoes to support Chris and his family when he was growing up, to make sure they had a chance at going to college.
Last year, his four year old daughter Lydia said after the election, “why were there bullies running.” At that moment, Chris knew that calmer heads needed to prevail. That reason, common sense, and the basic tenets of acting as an adult must come back to our political discourse.
Chris and his wife Tara are raising two young girls. They know that everyday decisions are affected by the high cost of childcare, medical expenses, rent, and home ownership. Like many families, they worry about the future of their girls' education, health, and opportunity in this wonderful state.
Chris believes the major issues we face our adequately funding our schools. He wants to see a transportation system that works for all, an economy that works for all not the few, and a state that protects labor rights. Chris has a strong background in finance and is dedicated to ensuring PERA remains to be a viable retirement plan for our state's employees.
Whether we are new to this beautiful state or have been here for generations, we know that these issues affect all of us either directly or indirectly. Chris will be dedicated to focusing on these issues.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “I have an irrepressible desire to live till I can be assured that the world is a little better for my having lived in it.” Chris has lived his life trying to follow Lincoln’s words. He did his best as a high school Social Studies teacher, educating his students to look at viewpoints and issues from many sides. Chris joined the United States Air Force and went to officer school so he could protect and serve his country before a back injury forced him out.
He moved on and became a Certified Financial Planner™ to always work in his client’s best interests so they could properly take care of themselves and their families. Chris founded the Rocky Mountain Chapter of 100 Men Who Care to create more awareness for local charities and the good they do.
Chris has been working his whole professional career to do what President Lincoln believed. Chris is running to provide you with the representation you deserve.
